The work concentrated on the Stratum XIX temples, the Great Temple of Stratum XVIII, the Round Altar - all dated to the Early Bronze Age, and the Megara Temples of Stratum XV.

Megiddo, a key site for the study of the Bronze and Iron Ages, is unique among the sites of the ancient Near East. Featuring remains from over 30 settlements, Megiddo is strategically located on the main highway of the Old World, leading from Egypt to Mesopotamia. It is mentioned in important verses in the Bible and in Egyptian and Assyrian texts.

This chapter reports on stratigraphic findings from the excavation of Area H at Tel Megiddo, an elite precinct on the northwest edge of the settlement adjacent to the palace uncovered by University of Chicago excavations in Area AA. it presents Levels H-13 to H-15, covering strata of the Late Bronze Age I through Late Bronze Age IIB (roughly equivalent to University of Chicago Strata IX-VIIB).
